Romans 3:21-26 (ESV)

  (21) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-- (22) the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:  (23)  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  (24)  and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,  (25)  whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.  (26)  It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Matthew 18:8-9 (ESV)

 (8) And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.  (9)  And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.

Psalm 130:3-4 (ESV)

  If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities,
 O Lord, who could stand?
 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.

Rev. 22:12-13 (KJV)

Heb 13:5-6 (ESV) - What can man do to me?

(5)  Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."  (6)  So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"

Psalms 78:2-7 (ESV) - I will open my mouth

  (2) I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,  (3)  things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.  (4)  We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.  (5)  He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children,  (6)  that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children,  (7)  so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;

1Peter 5:5 (ESV)

  Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders.
 Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another,
 for "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

(8) Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
